Description of the course

The Ironman Massachusetts 70.3 course offers a varied and picturesque triathlon experience, showcasing the scenic beauty of the region.

Athletes commence their challenge with a downriver swim in the Connecticut River, leveraging the river’s current for an energizing start.

Following the swim, the single-loop bike course takes them west of Springfield, heading towards the stunning Berkshires. This segment, renowned for its natural landscapes, guides cyclists through the charming Granville area. The bike route is both demanding and visually appealing, featuring a total elevation gain of 764 meters (approximately 2,507 feet), presenting a mix of terrains. After reaching the Berkshires, the course loops back through Westfield and West Springfield, allowing athletes to soak in the diverse sceneries of Western Massachusetts.
