Description of the course

The IRONMAN San Andres 70.3 starts with a 1.9km swim in the Caribbean Sea’s clear turquoise waters. The protected bay provides calm conditions for athletes throughout the single-loop swim course.
The 90km bike segment consists of two laps around the island on flat roads. Athletes circle the island’s perimeter, with constant views of the Caribbean Sea throughout both loops of the course.
The run comprises three laps totalling 21.1km on a flat route along the coastline. Athletes can maintain consistent pacing while viewing the ocean throughout the run.

Weather Conditions

San Andres Island experiences tropical climate in mid-June with average daytime temperatures of 30-32°C (86-90°F) and overnight lows around 26°C (79°F). Humidity levels reach 80-85% with frequent brief afternoon showers. Caribbean Sea water temperature averages 28-29°C (82-84°F).
