The Ironman Jonkoping 70.3 offers a picturesque and demanding triathlon course, set against the backdrop of Sweden’s stunning countryside and the vibrant town of Jonkoping. The event kicks off with a one-loop swim in the tranquil Lake Vättern, Sweden’s largest lake. This 1.9-kilometer (1.2-mile) swim not only refreshes the athletes but also treats them to magnificent views of the lush countryside and the charming city of Jönköping.

Cyclists then embark on a one-loop bike segment that spans through the scenic Swedish countryside. The course rolls through gentle hills, dense forests, and along the shores of Lake Vättern, offering captivating views of the Swedish landscape. Beginning and concluding in Jönköping, the route extends to Huskvarna, a town steeped in industrial history, before meandering through the hills and valleys back to the finish line in Jönköping.

The triathlon concludes with a three-loop running course, a final test of endurance and determination. Run, primarily flat with a few modest hills, takes athletes through the streets of Jönköping and its picturesque surrounding countryside.
